need vibes to banish this plateau!

Hi everyone -

I guess you could say that this plateau I'm on has been a carryover from my last diet, which was LA weight loss. I've been hovering between 196 and 200 pounds for almost a year. I keep losing and gaining the same 3 pounds! I read the post from yesterday about plateaus, and decided to mix my food choices up a bit today, here's what I had:

breakfast:

1/2c oatmeal in 1 cup milk

1 hard boiled egg

mid morning

1 cheese stick - part skim mozz

lunch

TGIFridays pecan crusted chicken salad. It had bleu cheese, pecans, dried cranberries lettuce and a balsamic vinaigrette dressing, and a piece of chicken of course

mid afternoon -

apple with peanut butter

dinner

chicken

some eggplant parmesan

tonight during Friends and Survivor I'm going to have a chocolate ricotta thingee.

Tomorrow I'm going to start riding my stationary bike again, I've been coughing and blowing my nose for two weeks solid, and I'm just now getting over it.

Come on girls, send me some positive vibes to break this *$%&#$ plateau!

Suggestions welcome too, of course!

Hi Lauria,SENDING((((((((( BANISH THE PLATEAU VIBES)))))))))) YOUR WAY I post last week a article about plateaus.Do what you feel is best for you.The only one that worked for me was to space out the water. Lots of people don't like to drink water at night because of the bathroom scene during the middle of the night. I drink 32 oz. in the morning and 16 oz in the afternoon and 16 oz.evening.That week my plateau broke. Hope that Helps. Hugs Maryann

I agree with MaryAnn- drinking the water at night helped my plateau. It's worth a trip in the middle of the night.

thanks ladies. I don't understand why drinking the water at night would help, but I'm willing to try anything. What made you decide to do this? I drink a lot of water at work, and usually only have a glass of water at dinner, but none more after that or I'm in the bathroom all night. I'll make a point to have a big glass after dinner every day this week and we'll see how it goes!

hugs!

I was stuck for about a week and a half without losing, and I'm not susre what got it started again. But it could have been increased water and salad amounts.

I looked at your menu and noticed that there didn't seem to be any vegetables in the morning (like V8 juice). And you might want to add a salad or green veggies in the evening, or maybe a fiber pill might help. You may have food sitting in your system a little too long. I hope I'm not being redundant.....you've been here a while a probably read this kind of message before.

And just like you asked, I'm sending good vibes..............

Hope this helps,

Judy

thanks Judy! Actually, that day's menu was a bit atypical. I forgot my v8 juice, which I have every morning, and the eggplant parmesan I counted as a veg. It was just me and the kids that night for dinner, and I was lucky to get any dinner of any kind on the table, know what I mean?

I've been trying to shake things up a bit, I ate red and yellow peppers yesterday at lunch as my veg, and have had oatmeal with blueberries twice this week.

Hopefully this won't last too long!

I don't know why I thought of drinking more water in the evening. I just figured if water helped whoosh your system out, why not have it doing more of it at night while I slept. I'd try standing on my head in the pouring rain if it'd help! LOL!
