Hi all!

I was wondering if any of you have any good dessert ideas. I'm a bit sick of the ricotta desserts, but maybe if there was a hot or baked one..or some variation. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Shiree,

There are some recipes in the Recipes section of this discussion board.

Also, check out your supermarket for other sugar-free extracts to use. We like banana extract (mix in nuts or mini chocolate chips), also coconut extract. I've also tried maple extract (which I like, dh doesn't). A tablespoon of peanut butter mixed with cocoa powder, packet of equal and some vanilla extract is also wonderful.

Another great dessert is mixing a softened sugar-free fudgicle with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter & some reddi whip. It's wonderful, just less filling than the ricotta creme.

We also have sugarfree jello with reddi whip -- peach flavor with blueberries mixed in was great (we're in Phase 2).

I just discovered this and I think it's pretty good. Like you, I am sick of Ricotta.

Try 1/2c of Light or Low Fat Cottage Cheese

1 package of whatever sugar substitue you use normally (I use the PC brand from Loblaws)

A hand full of pecans (no sugar, no salt)

Sprinkle of Cinnamon.

it may seem gross looking but it is super good. I also substitute the cottage cheese for vanilla NF yogurt and I leave out the sugar sub.

Thank you! I tried your cottage cheese suggestion and absolutely love it!! It is *almost* as good as a cinnamon bun! : )

Thanks again!

Thank you! These are all wonderful dessert suggestions. I'm going to try them all. I haven't seen banana extract in my supermarket, so I'm going to look somewhere else. Also, is the peanut butter okay in phase one?

Thanks again!

Look in the recipe section for boiled custard (that's the name of the thread). That is one idea for a dessert that's good for all phases. It's really basic, so changes can easily be made to give you different flavors. There's even a suggestion for using an ice cream freezer to make it into a frozen custard, which tastes like a fancy ice cream.
