Starting Monday Need Stick with it tips

Iam starting South Beach on Monday and I am hoping to make it through Phase 1. If any down falls it will be snacking but I am hoping that I can maintain and lose at least 5 pounds min during the phase. Breakfast and lunch will be a challenge as well but I am determined to do it.

I have 40lbs to lose all together any idea how long it should take? And do you recommend that I buy the book, and the good carbs bad carbs guide?

Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

You can buy the book if you want to. There is a lot of good information in it but if you are just looking for what to eat and what not to eat there are posts on this messageboard that clarify that.

For breakfast I just make the quiche cups and freeze them. That way in the morning I can microwave them. My bf also brings them to work with him :)

Snack: string cheese

As for lunch, I have made a big pot of soup and that last for days. It is easier to reheat a big bowl of soup or even chili instead of making a salad (for me atleast).

Snack: nuts

Dinner: something creative w./ chicken or beef. You can spice up your meats so they can be pretty tasty. A big salad and a veggie!

Dessert: I am not a ricotta fan for the dessert so I have light vanilla yogurt or jello.

It is hard to say when you will lose all of the weight that you want. I have been on and off the SBD since December. The most that I lost in one week was 7.5lbs. I am determined to stick it through this time. I started on Monday and have lost 4 lbs. Something that would help w./ the weight loss would be to go to the gym. Personally, for the first few days on Phase 1, I felt too "blah" to go to the gym but I am starting to feel better so I am going next week.

Hope this helps!!! :)

There are also some really good recipes for each Phase in the recipe section. There was also a good post in the chit chat section about tips on how to stick w./ the SBD. Good Luck :D

Hi Crystal & welcome,

I think you should read the book.
