Question about riccotta dessert

Hi,

I am on my third day of the SBD, feeling pretty good. I made the chocolate ricotta dessert last night, it was pretty good. I made it with light ricotta, which I think has 6 grams of fat, is that ok? I had half a cup, and it was very filling. Also my blender wouldn't blend it, so I ended up adding some FF Half and Half to it to make it a little less thick, turned out really good and light. Is it ok that I added the half n half? Is half a cup a good serving. My recipe was a little different from others on here, but pretty much the same.

1 cup ricotta

2 tbsp half and half

1 tbsp hazelnut sf syrup

2 1/2 tbsp splenda

2 tbps chocolate powder (baking, sugar free)

Blended in the blender and was light and creamy.

I also wonder if I'm eating too much for my morning snack. I've been takig a mozzerella string cheese stick, splitting it in half and wrapping each half in two deli thin, small slices of lean ham. does this sound like too much?

I'm so glad I found this site, I have learned so much on here. Me and my sister decided to do this together, so we talk every day via e-mail to keep each other going. Although this weekend I'm going to the beach w/ my husband for my b-day and I know I am going to want to have a few drinks, I just plan to bring diet soda and an allowed liquor for Phase 2 -to mix with it., and stay eating as close to SBD as I can. I hope I can stay stong through this weekend.- think I might stay on phase 1 a little longer then two weeks, since this weekend is five days into my first week.

Thanks,

Debra

It doesn't sound like your breakfast is enough. What you're eating sounds like a perfect snack.

Do you like cottage cheese??

For breakfast I have half cup of cottage cheese, cinnamon to taste, a packet of splenda and a couple of pecans. Its really filling and tastes great.

As far as the ricotta-i don't mix in the blender just with a spoon. Half cup is definately the perfect amount. What brand are you using? I've found some taste alot better than others-and you might enjoy it more. So try another and see what you think. There I would avoid the half & half if you find a ricotta that tastes better.

Thanks,

Actually that was my morning snack, so it doesn't sound like too much. For breakfast I've been eating 1 hard boiled egg, two slices of turkey bacon and then half cup of veggies. I can definitely tell you with all this eating I am so stuffed all the time, not used to eating this often I guess.

I have one more question about the ricotta dessert I forgot to ask.

We are only supposed to have 75 calories daily of "sweet" stuff. The ricotta dessert (I think) is more then that, since it's not non fat, but low fat. Is that still ok, or should I maybe eat less then 1/2 cup of it?

Thanks,

Debra

A 1/2 cup is the serving size.

I added a dash of cinnamon to mine last night. I thought it was a good variation, and will definitely more!
