Hi Jamie!!

The chocolate is calling you again? Did you search for the meringue recipe I told you about in your other post?

Re: the Swiss Miss - I am not familiar with it - what are the ingredients?

No I didn't see that recipe.. I must have missed it..ugh.. the ingredients in the hot chocolate are ... nonfat dry milk, modified whey, cocoa, calcium carbonate, less than 2% of: carrageenan, salt, sucralose, polysorbate 60, natural and artificial flavorings and acesulfame potassium.... calories per serving are: 50, 0 grams of fat, 7 grams of sugar and 10 grams of carbs..

Can I ask what the merengue recipe is again?

thanks

Jamie,

The Swiss Miss has alot of sugar - 7g, and the modified whey is a starch we want to avoid on SBD. I would avoid this drink - especially on phase 1.

Here is the chocolate meringue cookie recipe:

MERINGUE COOKIES

warning--this is a "wing it" recipe

beat 4-5 egg whites to soft peaks. beat in sugar/splenda to taste (really quickly--you dont want to go past stiff peak phase.) fold in some semisweet chocolate chips. (optional--let's call it 3-4T...amount is up to you.) form into spoonful size cookies. bake at 350 for 5-10 minutes until they're a little short of toasty on the outside.

Karen

P.S. Instead of the chocolate chips I used unsweetened cocoa powder - this change will make it P1 friendly. Otherwise it would be a P2 recipe.
