The first I heard, she called me because she said
something was wrong with her phone, and the phone
person told her to call someone so he could check
her service. So, she then hung up, the fellow called
her back and told her nothing was wrong with it.
She called ME back to tell me this. I told her it must
be her phone, it's about 20 years old, and that I'd
get her a new one. Other than that, she said she had
a good time, but that my brother drove back 5 1/2 hrs
without stopping for lunch or bathroom break, and didn't
speak to her the whole time as he was listening to his
Ipod the whole time. She said she didn't dare ask him
Well, today, I took over her new phone, and she complained
that she'd been waiting all day for the phone man to come!
As I was telling her how to plug the phone into the jack after
it's charged up, she was getting confused and teary-eyed.
She kept saying she's going "crackers" and "crazy" and
that we'll be shoving her in a home any day. I asked her why
she was saying that. She said that I had told her my sister
wanted to do this. (My sister DOES want to do this, but I haven't
said anything to my mother, only the brother who drove her, and
he knows better than to say anything to our mom, that it would only
upset her. My sister visits my mother only about once a month, even
though she lives only 15 mins away, and has taken no interest that
I can tell about what's been going on with Mum. My sister is a control
freak and wants everything her own way. She does want to stick
Mum somewhere so she can take off in her trailer home when she
retires, as if there were no one else to take care of her.)
I tried to reassure Mum, but it's a hard go,especially because
she will forget everything I said! Since she has started her
day program she is much more emotional at home, more down on
herself, more depressed and tearful. Could it be the Aricept?
