Hey all!

I just started SBD on Thursday, Phase 1. The only problem is -- I can't stop cheating! It's nothing major, but every day I've eating one carb item or so. On Thursday I did great, but on Friday I went to a party and had one beer (I know, the very worst). Then, on Saturday I ate some strawberries that my roommates had brought home. Today my friends and I ordered out and I got an SBD-friendly salad, but I ate one of my friend's chicken fingers! I don't know what my problem is. I want this diet to work so badly! I actually am eating A LOT healthier than I have in the past and I feel great but I really want to get the full benefits of this diet. I'd like to lose at least 5 pounds in phase 1. Have you all struggled with the same situation? How do you deal with it? Every day I get up and decide that today is going to be the day I'm perfect, but then somewhere along the way I cheat once. And I always get right back on track...but still.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

That you can get right back on tract is amazing! Congratulations! It also means that once you reach your goal, you'll be able to maintain well as that's how it works- mainly SBD but with "cheats" every once in a while. Meanwhile though to lose what you want- roommate's food and going out are going to be a temptation. For just the first 10 days can you leave the room when roommates are eating other foods, and not go out that weekend? After that your craving should end and a natural willpower will kick in. Then Phase Two will allow strawberries and certain alcohols. Dr. A even said in an interview an occasional low carb beer is okay. Other temptation foods may have a SBD version if you try the search above.

Good Luck!

Hi, Susan. I'm getting ready to go on vacation also. Did you lose any weight when you went back to Phase 1 for every other day? I'd love to be able to lose some more weight before I leave on April 14. I've been stalled for about a month. Should I go back to Phase 1? Thanks.
