Craving sweets!!

I can't believe I am having withdrawals. it's only my second day and I am dying for some cheese and crackers (and I don't usually eat any at all!!). How crazy is that?? Let me also mention that I don't have a sweet tooth. I eat cookies or candy *very* sporadically but I can't stop thinking of them. I am not even hungry. I just think my body feels low on sugar. I can't wait to get home and have some more jello (I had some with lunch).

How do you distract yourself from these thoughts?

I've been the same way. NEVER crave sweets. But on day 5, phase 1 I can't stop thinking about it. Haven't blown it yet, but in some serious danger!

When I go home, the FIRST thing I am doing is making the chocolate bean cake recipe (in bean cake recipes thread in recipes folder below) to see if that helps. You should try it!

Craving sweets, including artificial sweeteners, will set of cravings for more. If you cut out all sweets togethere, artificial and real, you will have no cravings what so ever after about 2 or 3 days. It was hard, but worth it.

I just finished having a really good sweet treat. I had some sugar free- fat free rasberry jello with a scoop of fat free vanilla yogurt. It was sooo good and hit the spot.

You should give it a try when u are craving sweets!

HI:

I agree about cutting out all sweets or artificial sweetners for a few days. I have had the same problem, even though I never crave or eaten many sweets before SBD. I tried all kinds of things, including going back to P1, dropping fruit, eating fruit with protein. The only thing that stopped the cravings for me was cutting out all sweeets for a week. It worked really well. Now I can enjoy the allowed sweets and not have to worry about cravings.

Someone said we are all different and have to try many things to make the diet work for us. Good advice.

Wow...now I am super confused...as to what sort of yogurt I should be eating..

The yogurt I have here is:

Astro French Vanilla Naturally Flavoured Yogurt - Low Fat/Low Cholesterol

Per 1/2 cup serving:

Energy - 105 Cals

Protein - 5.3g

Fat - 1.3g

Poly - 0.1g

mono - 0.4g

sat. - 0.8g

Carbs - 17g

See I think the problem here is that I live in Canada and I am having a ery difficult time finding the products that you guys list sometimes.

Man, I feel totally discouraged now, since I have no idea if I am doing this right...someone please help me

Just a question - do you mean FROZEN yogurt, or just regular refrigerated yogurt? There's a difference, I believe! LF or FF plain or no sugar added (sweetened with something like Splenda) is perfectly fine - up to 8 oz. If it's frozen yogurt, I'm assuming same rules apply - no sugar added. To the more "seasoned" SDBers - do I have this right?

I am meaning just regular yogurt...that is low fat...not frozen yogurt.

Terribly Confused!
