What am I doing wrong?
| Thu, 04-01-2004 - 11:17am |
I am new to this board, but I have been on the south beach diet for 9 days now and have only lost 2 pounds. What am I doing wrong? I am so upset and confused. I combined the diet with my workout, and I do three cardio workouts a week and two weight lifting workouts a week. I don't understand what is going wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks so much for your help.

Hi & welcome!
Maybe you could post a sample menu for us.
You may not be doing anything wrong.
Susan :)
I will tell you what I had to eat yesterday.
Breakfast- 2 hard boiled eggs
Snack - String cheese
Snack - a handful of nuts
Lunch - two small hamburger patties made on a george foreman grill with lowfat cheese
Dinner - a salad with low carb ranch dressing
after workout - 2 hard boiled eggs
I want to lose 40 pounds. I am at 162 now and need to be at 125 by September. I have lost 10 pounds since January, but not on the SBD. I have no medical or health issues that should be preventing me from losing. I just don't understand. Am I not eating enough or am I eating the wrong things? I am weightlifting, so maybe gaining muscle?
As for your menu, try a V-8 w./ breakfast, try a small salad or veggie snack w./ lunch, and try a protein w./ dinner. The only thing that I see is that you are not eating enough vegetables. Make sure you are drinking enough water as well. Iced Green Tea is something that helps w./ my weight loss.
Hope this helps

for one thing you need 1/2 cup of veggies with breakfast (a glass of V8 will do) and 2 cups with BOTH lunch and dinner.
