on a daily basis would help me from going to the bathroom "too much". I don't know if it's these darned veggies or what... but my stomach is not coping well. I wonder if I took like Metamucil on a daily basis if it would help "bulk" me up. What do you all think?? TIA... Michelle

I could be wrong, but I thought Metamucil makes you go more. Isn't it a mild laxative?? I know its used to treat constipation so I would think it would have the reverse effect of "bulking" you up.

I'm a newbie to SBD but I think I read something about taking metamucil 15 min. before a meal for the fiber to work against the sugar.

Hi Susan. To answer your questions... no non sugary treats for me, I use Sweet n Low which I have always used, and yes, the dairy is the only thing new to me because there was no dairy on Atkins (milk wise). I only use the milk for my coffee (used to use Half and half) and now I eat the cottagecheese, yogurt and ricotta on a pretty regular basis. Also.. when I was doing Atkins I only ate salads... never ate half as much of the veggies I eat now. As for the metamucil, years ago I suffered from Irritable bowel syndrome and they put me on metamucil as a a way to bulk up my stools. I know, it sounds contradictory to what it's known for.. but I think when taken on a daily basis it keeps you "regular". Ugh... I have alreayd RAN to the bathroom twice today!!!! BTW... I am journaling everything. Thanks Susan......................... Michelle

I don't think the metamucil would hurt at all.
