Day 8 of Phase 1 and I'm all saladed out

I'm on day 8 and if I have to eat another salad or another egg in ANY form, I will run screaming madly into the night. Honest to Pete, I didn't care much for salad or eggs to begin with and now I'm just plain LOATHING the thought of either.

I'm eating a lot of lunchmeat and low-fat cheese dipped in mustard (without the greens). Is that hurting me to cut the salad out? Seriously, I just can't do it anymore.

And as for breakfast - since I can't gag down another egg (with spinach, peppers, onions, low-fat cheese or anything else in it - it's STILL an egg), I've been eating my mocha ricotta for breakfast! It helps me a lot since I crave sugar pretty much from the moment I open my eyes in the morning.

I haven't weighed myself yet, but my clothes are definitely fitting more loosely. At the start of the diet I was 5'5" and 194lbs on a very small body frame. I'm hoping to get to at least 130.

Wish me luck!!!

you've made it halfway through phase one. I think you deserve to congratulate yourself on that. And emphasize the positive of your clothes being looser; that's a really good sign! Only another six days of phase one. You can endure almost anything for six days. Think back to school cafeterias, or camping, or some other time in your life that the food was not to your taste. You made it through, didn't you?

I'm on day one (or one-and-a-half), but I'm already worried about eating eggs for breakfast EVERY day. Not a huge fan of them.

Do you like cooked veggies as opposed to salads? Your veggies don't have to come in salad form, and don't have to involve spinach or lettuce. Try cooking enough of your entree and veggies at night to have them reheated for lunch the next day.

One of my snacks today is going to be last night's asparagus wrapped with ham and swiss. Later this week is brocolli & cauliflower with hummus.

Breakfast? Yogurt sweetened up w/ vanilla and sweetener and topped with nuts?

hope that helps a bit,

Kate

i had this moment in phase one, too. and i *liked* eggs and salad to begin with. fortunately i was able to control my urge to run and scream until after i left the restaurant :)

it gets better.

i did end up eating veggie chili for breakfast a couple of times in phase 1. i actually love dinner's leftovers for b-fast.

isn't there a recipe for zucchini "hash browns" somewhere? that'd be a good way to get veggies for b-fast.

i also eat the "surprise south beach mashed potatoes" for b-fast to get my veggies.

Ok, am going to HAVE to try those "mashed potatoes" myself! What a great breakfast. Now if we could figure out a great NSA ketchup for hashbrowns... ;)

Denise-

I remember saying to by DH, (who is SBing it with me), that I won't be able to stay on phase 1 for 2 weeks because I had had it with eggs. Well the ricotta crepe breakfast recipe saved me! I made it and instantly announced that that recipe would keep me on phase 1. It was posted previously, but basically it's something like:

2 eggs, 1t vanilla, 1 pkg spelenda, 1 T ricotta- beat that up. Then, in a seperate bowl, take 1/4 cup ricotta add 1 pkg splenda, dash of salt, and about 1t almond extract. Cook the egg mixture in a small frying pan, scraping around the crepe and allowing the raw egg to seep under the cooked until it is all cooked. Then add the almond ricotta mixture down the center and fold the egg crepe over it. Let rest a minute or so and enjoy!

I know it's still eggs, but it REALLY helped me in phase 1!

Good luck!
