Dilemma: I'm a cheater =(

I'm having a BIG problem. Everytime I start SBD I always CHEAT!!! So I always start over because the cheating is like a bowl of rice or a piece of bread and that's just full of carbs and a big NO NO on Phase 1. The reason I keep cheating is because all this food is all around me. I'm 18 and live with my parents, sister and 2 brothers...I am the only one that needs to lose the weight (everyone else is slim and tiny!) so I am the only one in this family that is doing SBD that means I am responsible for making my own BF,Lunch and Dinner. So it's really hard for me to keep in control =(. I hate this because I'm really trying to do this, I promised myself this Summer I would be at least 3/4 way to my goal. I exercise every morning 30min on the treadmill and also am going to start doing Pilates 3-4 times a week. (any good workout tapes you know of please let me know!).

I went grocery shopping and bought what I needed but still I am cheating. Should I just skip Phase 1 and go onto Phase 2? But I am sure I wont lose as much weight in Phase 2 as I could in Phase 1. Also if anyone could list some quick lunch and dinner ideas that would be great because those are the two meals I have the most difficulty with..I am a student and it's hard to stay in the kitchen for so long without realizing I have tons of homework up ahead of me.

I've tried making salads..I grill the chicken on my George Forman grill the only thing is when I grill it on there I always end up burning it lol, so if anyone knows how long you should leave a boneless/skinless chicken breast on that GF grill let me know, gosh that was embarassing to admit but my lack of knowledge of the kitchen doesn't help much, I grew up with my mom always preparing my meals I would always make my own snacks which would be a bag of popcorn or chips, healthy huh?

The grilled chicken doesn't taste good on it's own so if anyone has any ideas of marinades for the chicken or some seasonings that would be helpful too.

I am so glad this message board is here or else I would be so lost without it. Thanks to all you ladies that help out us newbies so much!

TIA

Seema

Seemzy, I have a lot of the same problems that you do. I began on phase one and cheated every other day, but I was determined to lose weight. So I started on phase two and did that for two weeks. I went back to phase one and had an easier time with it.I am back on phase two again, and I haven't cheated yet. It's only been 4 days, but we'll see. It is hard to get past those carb cravings. Try phase two first and then cut down to phase one from there. It will be alot less drastic.

Hey Seema!

Don't feel bad for being a cheater, I too have cheated on this WOE and felt bad. However, I then realized feeling bad isn't going to make the weight go away! So this week I'm on phase 1 again to get back on track. Some tips I have learned along the way that might help you:

1) No sugar added fudgepops are a GODSEND!!! Seriously you are allowed 75 cals of sugar free dessert per day and these really hit the spot!

2) Exercise WILL help you with weight loss and convert the fat into lean muscle and combing aerobic/cardio exercise with strength toning will shape your body in no time.

3) Drink LOTS of water each day, believe it or not more water helps you lose weight.

4) Don't feel bad for cheating ONCE IN A WHILE. I have found when my weight stalls that cheating a little at one meal helps to boost the metabolism.

5)If you're hungry, eat!!! Just eat the good foods.

6) Watch your fat intake. I found that too much fat defeats the purpose of the diet.

I hope this helps, I know some of the tips I learned have helped me!! Stick with it and the weight will come off in no time.

Walk Away the Pounds Express tapes are great too, and easy to do (lots of fast paced marching place, marching, kicks).

i love pilates and have quite a few tapes. i like Crunch's pick your spot pilates. three ten minute workouts you can do together or separately. and also gaiam's beginning pilates mat workout with ana caban. some people find her kind of smarmy as an instructor, but the tape is a great beginning tape. i noticed results right away (one or two weeks of doing it 3 times a week) and it's only 25 minutes. i think i got both of these at a fred meyer or target. denise austin also has a pilates tape, it's not as focused on form as it should be for a beginning tape, but if you do the ana caban tape and get more familiar with the breathing and the moves, you could try it as a change up. i also have winsor pilates (i didn't buy it, my sister in law did) her workout is great, too. but she just sort of bugs me....

i ALSO have Crunch's fat burning pilates and fat burning yoga. these are great workouts, too but are more like 45 minutes long.

as you can see i am addicted to video workouts.

best of luck!
