Hi all,
I've been trying the Atkins diet off and on for the last couple of months, to get rid of my extra 30 pounds, but seem to always gain weight with it. I've decided to give the SB a try instead. Can anyone help to explain the differences from Atkins, and please share any helpful tips or advice for someone just starting out. Also, is it normal to lose weight in Phase I, and how much have people typically lost?
Thanks so much!

Welcome!!!!!
As far as Atkins..I don't know too much about it. SBD is a low sugar, good carb, good fat diet. I have tried many diets in the past and none have worked! SBD is working great for me. I lost 11 pounds in phase 1 (I have a lot to loose). The weight loss in phase 1 varies from person to person. The more you need to loose, the worse your eating habits were the more you will lose on phase 1.
If you haven't gotten the book yet you really should! It teaches you a lot about what foods do to your body. Then, after having the knowlege you are able to make better choices.
BIGGEST TIP: be patient! Don't rush it and do NOT weigh daily! GET THE BOOK
Eat your snacks, Buy no added sugar fudge bars!!!!!!
See Ya Around!
Good Luck

Welcome to our board and the beach! I hope you will give this way of eating a try... I did Atkins for 2 months and while I lost 6 pounds I was misreable and regained it the minute I had some pizza or whole grain bread.
Susan :)
I like the fact that there are soooo many choices for Phase 1, that I won't even have to prepare seperate meals for my family.
