Couple of NSV's!

Well, I am feeling rather frustrated that my scales have bumped back up to 153 (refusing to change siggy though! LOL) but have couple of good things.

1. Yesterday was v. depressed (have been going through some huge personal difficulties and depression is expected I guess) and discouraged and sad. Normally, eat great deal of comfort food and/or half bottle of wine on days like that. I made the boys (DH and DS) chicken and dumplings. I grabbed a coffee mug, and filled it up (WHY does it feel less piggish to eat out of coffee mug as though eating from a mug keeps portions dainty? Still fits same amount as cereal bowl LOL) Sat down and put ONE small bite into my mouth. And then said to self "GASP! What're you DOING?" and I dumped it back in the pan. Did not eat another bite. Had SBD Chili leftovers instead! V. proud of self.

2. Woke up to snuggle w/DH before getting up for work, and didn't feel like tummy gravitationally slid toward mattress as much, while laying on my side (I HATE that , and was so glad to not feel so lumpy and gross!)

3. (ok, this one is a little embarressing) Am wearing a nice skirt today with MINIMAL support underneath. Tried on firmer control half pantyhose thing (anyone know what I am talking about?) and it actually made the skirt TOO LOOSE and I couldn't wear it! LOL. Too much control/tummy sucking in action I guess!

Congratulations, Becky! I know from experience how difficult it is to stay on track when you're depressed. I eat well most of the time, but when I'm down, I always tended to "reward" myself with junk food and let myself take a break from exercising. I'm starting to realize that this is probably the worst thing I could do.

Hopefully, feeling good about yourself and the weight you've lost will boost your mood somewhat during this difficult time. And remember, you have lots of friends here. I haven't been on this board very long, but I've already realized that these ladies are great.

Good luck - I wish you much continued success,

Yay, that is such good news (1) that you were able to eat good food in lieu of very attractive "bad" carbs and (2) that you can already tell the difference!

I laughed at your belly comment; I know what you mean! I like side of my body that's closer to the ceiling when I am lying on my side... since all the fat traveled onto the bed, I can see what my body looks like without all that excess fat!

BTW, you must have read Bridget Jones' Diary. I felt like I was reading a page out of the book, plus you have the writing style DOWN ;p

Good luck, and keep sharing your progress!

LOL!

I always have written in quick descriptive sentences. Reading Bridget defintely sharpened that style. Funny that you read it that way. When I went back and re-read I thought "OMG! She's right." ROTFL
