Day 2 and already discouraged

I just completed day 2 of Phase 1, and while I haven't weighed myself (I'd rather be able to tell by how my clothes fit until day 7), I'm feeling pretty good. But I was reading some of the posts and just by what some people were saying, I'm getting discouraged. I'm sorry that people aren't losing as much as they wanted or are just having trouble, but does anyone have great results they want to post, or positive thoughts about the diet? Just reading some of the posts and I already feel defeated :(

Don't feel that way - you will not be successful if you feel discouraged. I know - I have been there. I lost 14 pounds my first week! I followed the diet to the tee - never cheated and I exercised throughout the day. Then the second week I only lost a few pounds. Probably the first week was all my water weight. Well, after it slowed I almost gave in and said forget it...I stuck in there and over a month later I am close to 30 pounds down! Sometimes it slows-sometimes it picks up. Sometimes I get pissed because I will go days without losing anything-but, I have...I lose inches instead of pounds sometimes! I feel it in my clothes. I see it in my face. I feel energized. I feel like a new person and I owe it all to the South Beach lifestyle. Just do as it says in the book and make sure you get plenty of exercise and drink LOTS of water and you will be successful...I promise! I am a model to that prophecy!

Do NOT get discouraged. Everyone loses weight at a very different rate. If you have less to lose then you will not lose it as fast. I had about 30 to lose but ideally 20 because at a 30 loss I would have been a stick. So, far I have lost 11.5 lbs. I was on Phase 1 for 4 weeks. I stayed on so long because I cheated through the weekends and always started back at Phase 1. I am now slowly starting Phase 2 because I am scared of what the bread and fruit is going to do to me so I am am SLOWLY introducing it. My clothes feel great.

I think that sometimes people are looking for a number not a feeling and that is were dissapointment arises. I know that I feel great and I feel like I weigh less than the scale say's. That is all that matters!

Like you, today is day 3 for me. I am very excited. Last week I read up on SBD took my measurements around wednesday and today I felt that my shirt and pants were fitting a little loose, so I grabbed the measuring tape and from a 33 inch waist, I am now 31. My main goal is to get my waist down to a 28. That's without even doing any exercise. So don't give up. Just give it a week than weight yourself if you would like. I'm waiting for the two weeks to go by before weighting myself.
