Could I be eating too much??

Sorry, I am full of questions this week! I'm just wondering if because I don't have alot of weight to lose (13 lbs. to goal) that maybe I'm eating more than I should. I started eating some of the foods from the SBD monday, but today (wed.) is my first official day on it. I haven't been hungry, and just overall feel like I am eating more than I usually do. Will I still lose weight??? If there is something I should change I'd like to make the change early enough.

As an example here's what I've had so far today:

Breakfast: 2 egg omlet with cheddar, 1/2 c. broccoli

Lunch: Salad (in a bag) adding cucumber slices and cut up chicken. Chicken was from last nights dinner, baked in the oven with lemon and pepper.

Snack: String cheese (part skim mozz)

I think I'm following the diet ok, just feels like thats alot more food than I usually eat.

Any input???

Thanks,

From what you posted it seem's like you are exactly on track. I know it seem's like you are eating more than you usually do and I felt the same. The key to the snacks and the 3 meals is inorder to get your metabolism up. I use to actually gain weight because I did NOT eat enough which lead my metabolism to be VERY slow.

Try eating all of your snacks and meals. If it feels like you are eating too much then maybe just cut out one snack. You decide which one you don't really need. Sometimes I didn't want the snack between lunch and dinner if I had a later lunch. Keep us posted and good luck :D

If you are feeling too full, you might try just a 1 egg omelet, and adding a snack (with protein) in the morning. Basically listen to your body and adjust your portion sizes so that you always feel satisfied, but not stuffed.

I'm not too far ahead of you (started Sun. night). I'm finding that there's a lot more *volume* going in b/c of the veggies, but the total calories are possibly smaller b/c I'm eating smaller portions of protein at dinner (not eating an 8 or 12 oz portion, but trying to stick to close to 4 oz, without actually weighing it).

The other thing I learned from one of my friends was that the scale didn't move as quickly as the inches. Her clothes fit differently before the scale showed a change. so you might set some goals in those terms, particularly if you are exercising more (muscle weighs more than fat!).

Thanks Susan... The only reason I skipped the morning snack was because my breakfast and lunch were pretty close together (3 hours). Not sure I can fix that, I run a daycare and have to eat when I can, LOL!!! I eat breakfast after 8am (sometimes closer to 9am like today) and lunch at 12pm. I am starting to get alittle hungry by 11:30, but I just don't usually have a free minute between breakfast and lunch. Maybe as I get more into it I can make a point to have a small snack. My bigger problem is the stretch from lunch (at 12) to dinner (about 5:30pm) I could snack the entire time if I let myself.

Thanks for the input. When I made my omlet this morning I thought I really could survive with just 1 egg, 2 seemed like alot once it was made.

Thanks again!!!

Sue
