I ate my breakfast at 7:30am when I usually don't have it till 9am.
Did anyone else get this way the first few days?? I've read all about people feeling wierd the first few days and having cravings etc. but it wasn't a craving, it was a really nauseous feeling. HORRIBLE, especially when I have daycare kids arriving at 7am.
So, I guess my real question is WHAT do you do about this when it happens??? Is it normal to feel this way the first few days, does it go away?? I know the candy was wrong but we bought it last night for easter baskets and it was staring me in the face. I had 2 kids coming in 10 minutes and needed to feel better. PLEASE tell me what else I could have done. I plan on staying right on track today minus this mornings slip up. I'm already down 1.5 lbs!!!! (since monday).
And I know I'm going to be hungry by snack time, its going to have to be a "heaftier" snack than usual... maybe yougurt??
Please help!!

If you feel like that again, try drinking some milk or maybe having sone string cheese. The sugar in the milk (lactose) it's a good choice to bring your sugar levels back. This is also why it's important to have snacks during the day, to keep your sugar levels up.
good luck!

Welcome to the Beach! What you are experiencing is pretty common. I had this happen to me for my first few days of phase 1. Mine subsided around day 4. Your body is going through major withdrawal right now, which is understandable since you are accustommed to having more carbohydrates and sugar every day. Don't worry, the withdrawal process is necessary to detox your body and prepare for long term weight loss. Are you getting headaches, too? That was something I had a problem with for the first week or so in addition to the symptoms you are describing.
The good news is that it does go away, usually after the first few days. When I was going through the withdrawal, I managed to trick my body with SBD sweets like sugar-free jello and plain packets of Splenda when I had a sugar attack. It's not exactly the same, but it will curb the sweet tooth. It is so important to eat dessert on this diet if you like sweets, otherwise you'll be ready to cheat at the first drop in blood sugar.
To prevent the drop in blood sugar, try to eat 5-6 times a day between your meals and snacks. Don't skip any meals. Eat until you are satisfied. Make sure you drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration, too. Remember you are in detox mode in phase 1, so water is crucial. Part of your symptoms may be from dehydration (as mine were).
Hope this helps. Hang in there, this will be over soon (and so worth it!).

After breakfast I did pour myself a glass of skim milk (I am not a milk drinker). It definately helped. I'd much rather have an extra glass of milk than a peanut butter cup if it comes down to it. LOL!!!
Thanks so much, glad to hear its normal and will hopefully subside in a day or two.

I agree with what Ivy said.
Susan :)
I am so glad you posted this! I am feeling exactly how you described and was going to post the same question this morning. I'm on day 4 of phase 1 and this is the first day I feel like this, but it had me a tad worried. We'll be shaky together today and we'll hope it goes away by tomorrow!
