I have the SBD book but am still confused by the information and postings on this board. It says no milk in the book but I read we're allowed to drink skim or soy (lower than 4 gm. fat) on here. I also read that there was a cheesecake recipe for phase 1, which I've made but now I'm hearing you can't have fat-free or low-fat cream cheese or sour cream. Is there a limit to the amount of veggies you can have? Do they make sugar-free fudgesicles or are the regular fudgesicles ok? I don't see anywhere where dairy is limited in the book, could you please elaborate? I think that'll get me started for now.

Cathy answered everything perfectly, I love those fudgesicles!!!! :) But, I think in a list I printed off the south beach website it does say 2 CUPS maximum daily for milk/dairy (including yogurt).

Hope that helps.

I am confused as well and I have been on this WOE for awhile now.

The new SBD cookbook say's that we can have fat-free sour cream but the nutritionist say's we can't...guess we will have to wait and see what the answer is on that.

Cream cheese: Laughing cow makes a spreadable cheese that is fine to eat. I also heard that we could have imitation cream cheese. However someone posted that that is neufchatel but neufchatel is actually reduced fat cream cheese....guess we will have to wait and see what the answer is on that. Isn't it?

Milk: we can have milk, skim or soy is fine :)

Veggies: you should have 1/2 a cup w./ b-fast, 2 cups w./ lunch, 2 cups w./ dinner. I don't think there is really a limit since sometimes your snacks will most likely be veggies.

Fudgicles: they make sugar-free fudgicles or you can eat no sugar added fudgicles but steer clean or regular ones.

Does this help?

According, to the SBD cookbook it say's to limit dairy (1% of fat free) to 2 servings a day.

Thanks to everyone for being so helpful. That answers a lot of my questions. I am curious to see what the final decision will be on FF sour cream. :)
