Phase I Snack Ideas...

Hello,

I am on day 5 of phase 1 and doing pretty well, not sure how much weight I've lost b/c my scale is terrible, but at least 2-4lbs. My tummy is definatly smaller! And I feel much better, less foggy than day 1 and a lot less tired than before I even started SBD.

My question is this, I'm finally settling into SBD but already getting a little bored with my limited choices, also I find between dinner and bedtime a tough time for me (dh too, he's doing this with me) that's when my cravings hit! But a high protien snack usually fills me up and the craving passes, however, I need some suggestions of snacks to have, dh and I have been having some low-fat deli meat with ff cheese & mustard or a hardboiled egg, but what else do you suggest? Can we have tuna salad, ham salad or even chicken salad?

Also, I see a lot of you have chili, do you have to modify your recipes at all? I have a great one for turkey chili, what should I look out for?

Sorry for all the questions, I just could use some advice, dh and I are determined to make this work, but another week without something different I might cave!

Thanks so very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I snack on a lot of deviled eggs, part skim cheese and peanuts. But I think just about any of the things you mentioned would work. I would just look at the ingredients and make sure they're allowed. Mayonaise is definetly allowed and I know that is the ingredients on some. (Ham salad actually sounds pretty good) I do have some chili. :) Basically my recipe calls for tomatoe juice and a 29oz can of sauce. Then just kidney beans and I use the 97% FF Hamburger. But turkey would work out just great. Anything you can make with ground turkey (turkey burgers, turkey tacos, turkey chili) would work out great! I would just on your chili recipe if your buying sauces etc at the store watch for the sugar content.

Before bedtime is SO hard for me too. I just try to avoid the kitchen lol.

Good luck!

My after dinner snack (just a few nights a week) has been a few dollops of cool whip with some crushed almonds and cashews on top - it's like eating the top of a sundae and it's a great mix of salty and sweet!

Wow that sounds yummy! I didn't realize you could have cool-whip on phase 1, that opens up some other options! Thanks!
