Weight loss early or later in phase 1

I am on day 5 of Phase 1. I am feeling great and am not having any issues with cravings, etc. So far, it has been relatively easy for me to stick to the plan.

Each morning, I am approx. 5 - 6 pounds lighter than my start weight. But - by afternoon, I am back up to my start weight. This has been the pattern since day 2. Does permanent weight loss usually occur later in phase 1 or should I already be seeing weight loss?? Like I said - I am sticking to the plan, drinking lots of water and exercising every day.

Prior to starting the SBD - I was a very healthy eater to begin with. I have never been much for fast food, snack foods, etc. My only real downfall was a lot of sugar (yogurt or cereal for breakfast, oatmeal cookie with lunch, pudding or chocolate milk after dinner) I thought that ridding myself of my sugar habit would be a good idea. After 5 days of little sugar - I feel good but am not seeing results.

Any thoughts?

Also - should I be avoiding salt??

Thanks-

K

first off, you will drive yourself crazy weighing in at all times of the day!!! I weigh in daily although everyone will say you shouldn't do that either, LOL!!!! I weigh myself first thing in the morning (after I empty my bladder of course) and wearing basically the same thing (usually just a nightgown).

I lost weight throughout phase one, it equalled out to 3 lbs. the first week and 3 lbs. the second week. I am losing slower than some because I don't have as much to lose and if you were already eating healthy to begin with you will see a slow loss as well.

Chances are that 5-6 lbs. you are seeing is mostly water weight. Do not weigh yourself at night, you'll be disappointed at how much you "gained" over the course of the day.

And for the record, here is why I weigh in each day.... no matter what the number on the scale tells me I'm motivated. If I see a loss (even .5 lb) I am motivated to continue knowing my hard work is paying off and if by some chance I see a gain I can evaluate if maybe I had to much of something and nip it in the bud!

Don't drive yourself nuts by getting on the scale throughout the day, limit yourself to that 1 time a day weigh in and stick with the same time every day (I like morning because its usually the lowest).

Good luck!!!
