Can we have frozen grilled fish fillets?

I know there aren't any convenience foods we are really allowed, but I was cleaning out my freezer and found 2 packages of Gorton's Grilled Lemon Pepper fillets. I used to eat them as a low fat quick lunch all the time, they are pretty good.

I was reading the back of the box and they are low fat (3g), low calorie(100), high protein (17g), no carb (less than 1g), no sugar, but do have a bit of sodium (380mg).

Do you think they are allowed or is it only fresh fish??? I love fish, but don't really know how to buy/cook the real stuff.

Thanks,

Sue

I would certainly use it. If it has no breading, it is safe. And then when it is gone, then get your fish from the fresh fish section of the store. That way you can control the amount of sodium that is put on.

I often buy fresh fish and freeze it, so I can have it anytime. I did just this last weekend,in fact.

Fish and seafood are great. Shrimp and crab can even be eaten for snacks. Which I plan to start doing.

thanks for the reply. They are grilled, no breading so I was hoping they'd be ok. I have to read up on how to cook fish, its one thing I'm clueless about. I saw fresh live crabs in my grocery store this week and I love crabs but usually only from a restaurant.

Thanks!

Hi Sue, all frozen fish and seafoods that are plain are perfectly fine on South Beach.

ut-oh! there was partially hydrogenated canola oil in them. Oh well, I ate them and now they are gone, LOL!! Thanks Maggie for the response! Had I not looked at that I would have bought more thinking they were ok. I still don't have the label reading down pat.

Thanks!!

Sue
