Would anyone like to share their favorite P1 snack idea. I am allergic to nuts and dairy... boohoo

Thanks

PS I tried looking on the site, but I can't find too many snack ideas.... Maybe I am just missing it

Hi,

My fav snack is hummus with celery and cucumber sticks! I also like turkey breast rolled up in romaine lettuce leaves with a spring of green onion.

I couldn't have gotten thru phase 1 without hummus!

How about roasted garbanzo beans, olives, veggies dipped in salad dressing, roasted red peppers, hard boiled egg. Are soy nuts a possiblity for you?

bummer on the food allergies. But those are the items that are possibly the biggest diet busters, so maybe you are actually lucky....

I second the hummus with celery sticks or cucumber slices. I'm just polishing off a Zesty Garlic Hummus from Whole Foods now, my new favorite hummus. Second favorite is cracked red pepper, which I can get at Safeway.

You could also try veggies dipped in salsa (check ingredients for sugar). I also really like olives. If you like them, you could try doing a tapenade (I think it is olives, anchovies, garlic all mashed up, then spread on whatever you want).

One of my other faves is ham & mozz wrapped around steamed, chilled asparagus. Just skip the mozz. Add a little dressing or mayo if you want.

this weekend I put smoked salmon on cucumber slices for an appetizer when friends came over. I used light Phillie, but you could skip that or use something else (tapenade?).

The roasted chick peas sound really good, but I haven't tried them yet myself.

hth,

Kate

Thanks Cathy

I already checked out those threads but most of them consist of nuts and cheese, which I cannot have. But there were other ideas. Just wanted to know what everyone was eating.

Thanks
