Is sausage ok on Phase 1?

I found some chicken sausage (sun dried tomato and basil) that has no nitrates or artificial ingredients. the stats on the back are as follows per serving (these are big, knockwurst size sausages)

140 calories, calories from fat 60

Total fat 7g

Saturated fat 2g

Carbs 3g

Fiber 1g

Sugars 1g

There's nothing naughty in it so far as I can see. Can I eat it? I've read the book but I haven't found any information about sausages in general and I really like the healthier ones - any idea if I can still have them on occasion?

Thanks!

I don't know if there is much of a distinction between turkey sausage and 'breakfast' turkey sausage, but in the new cookbook, breakfast sausage is permitted in moderation (p.16).

As this is the case, I don't believe that 'regular' sausage would not be permitted.

Yeah, the thing is, the fat content is pretty low (7g) and especially the saturated fat (2g)which is not unlike some of the cheese that's ok to have, so I'm not sure what makes it bad. Also, if off limits, does it eventually become allowed as an occasional treat?

I don't believe that turkey sausage is off limits at all. I know in the past others here have thought so. Now it is clearly stated by Dr. A in the cookbook that it is allowed in moderation. Also in the 'Good Fats, Good Carbs Guide, turkey sausage patties are listed as limited. To me, this means the same thing. Enjoy!
