tomorrow. I did it for most of the day today, but didn't have the right foods on hand, so messed up a little. I did a mini food shopping at lunch today and got a few things. If I tell you my issues, can anyone give me some tips? I'm generally not one for cooking too much. I just don't have the time. I'm a single mother working full-time. By the time we get home it's late and I don't want to spend the little time I have with my dd (almost 3) preparing meals. I generally eat after she goes to bed, which is between 8 and 8:30. How can I eat properly on this plan without having to put in too much effort? I also don't have a lot of stuff yet, so I need to do a major food shopping for the SBD. I was away the last 2 weekends and can't go after work unless someone watches my dd. Too much to take her with me that late. Doesn't work. She is crabby and I can't concentrate on what I need to get.
I love to eat veggies, but hate to cook them. I read the artichoke post and got some great ideas from that. I LOVE artichokes, so I can eat them a lot. I usually just steam it and then use the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray on each leaf. It's pretty good that way, but now I have some new ideas to try for them.
Just wanted to introduce myself and have you all disspell some of my fears that could easily turn into excuses for not following the plan. I need to lose about 30 pounds.
Thanks in advance!!

Hi Liz, welcome!!
Hi Liz & welcome!
It's great to have you here.
Welcome! I agree about the no time to make elaborate meals- I do the SBD and keep meals very simple. I'll bake chicken breasts with a bit of Emmerill sauce on top and have that with some microwave veggies for dinner. I even have my "ricotta creme" desserts just plain- not even mixing in the splenda and flavoring. There are a few recipes I will occasionally do- mini-pizzas with a mushroom base, the baked garbanzo beans and the mini-quiches that I can freeze. I'm about to try the Kale Chips. But mainly, all my meals are very simple. As you are about to find time to do- get lots of SBD foods in the house and get rid of temptations. For me that is really key, then it's easy to stay on SBD.
Good luck!
Sally
