Hi everyone, I just started the SBD yesterday and today I woke up feeling very shakey. Is this normal? Anyone else feeling like this? I'm sure it's major withdrawal from sugar and carbs - used to have a "snack" every hour! I'm so glad you are all here for support - good luck to everyone, we'll all be looking sexy by summer!!!

My first day I felt kinda "foggy" and a little outta sorts, I also went to the gym my first morning and found that tough b/c I didn't have my usual sport bar before I went. But now I'm on day 6 and feeling a lot better. It can be a tough adjustment for a day or two but one you get into it you should feel a lot better. My dh hasn't had any problems, but I don't think he ate as many carbs as I did, so that may affect how you feel. Try eating some protein, low-fat deli meat, string cheese, hard boiled eggs (those have been a lifesaver when I feel really hungry) and don't be afraid to snack more than 3 times if you need it, sometimes I have 4-5 snacks, as long as they are SBD approved you'll be fine!

Hope I helped, this message board has lots of friendly & knowledable people so when in doubt check it out! Lots of luck!

Alisa,

Make sure you are getting enough water. Feeling shakey can be a symptom of dehydration, as are headaches. And you will probably want to eat something pretty soon after you get up. By morning it has been quite a while since you last ate. Perhaps have a glass of milk or V8 while you make your breakfast.

And you can continue having a snack every hour, so long as it is SB-friendly!

Good luck and welcome!

Kate

I posted the exact same thing about 2 weeks ago... http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-fbsouthbeach&msg=6012.1&ctx=256

It is very normal. A small glass of skim milk helped me the following mornings. It only lasted 2-3 days for me but even now I sometimes start feeling alittle groggy and just 4 oz. of milk helps!

Good luck,
