Ok here is the problem I have been on the SBD for 5 days now and I have not lost a lb yet. I am 19 years old weigh 122 and I am 5'2. I need to loose 10 lbs and I will be satisfied becasue that is a normal healthy weight for my height no less. I am eating all of the foods to enjoy, but I am not following the meal plans to the T. I eat eggs for breakfast snack on cheese eat salmon for a late lunch and eat salad or steamed vegies for dinner I do although have a cup of coffee in the morning. should I be losing yet or am I jumping ahead of myself. i know since I am not very overweight the lbs will not come off as quickly. Can one of you SBD experts help me or tell me whats going on?

Hi ccford, first, just to let you know...we don't have actual experts here on our board...just ordinary people like you that have been on SBD for a while.

Hang in there!

My scale hasn't really budged for the last week (my second of Phase One), but the inches have changed. Have you taken measurements? I measured a thigh, my hips (actually my butt), my waist, chest and bust. I've lost from all but my thighs, but I have small legs (genetic disposition to be an apple), so that's OK.

And really, since you don't have much to lose, it won't be dramatic on the scale. Try not to weigh yourself often, and try to be consistent about when. I try to do it first thing in the morning, after the toilet and as I'm changing from PJs to running clothes. And remember that your mentrual cycle can impact water retention, too.

Try to make sure that you get both veggies and protein in each meal. The veggies will give you lots of vitamins and fiber (which will keep things moving along inside), as well as fill you up. The protein will keep you going. You might not be eating frequently enough or in enough quantity. If you eat too little, or too infrequently, your body worries that it might not get fed for a while and tries to conserve energy (i.e. burns fewer calories).

Adding exercise will also help, too.

There's a support group below for 15 or Less to Success. You will find some folks in similar situations.

Good luck!

Hi,

I agree with what everyone else has shared so far. Are you eating cheese for both snacks? I would mix it up and have veggies and hummus (my fav!) or turkey rollups for one of the snacks.

I also wanted to emphasize exercise. Not sure if you are working out right now, but it will really help! I lost 6.5 lbs in Phase 1 (I'm 5'3" and started at 131.5 lbs) and worked out about 3x a week for an hour+ at a time.
