Another Question - Widening Middle?

I've noticed that while my stomach may not be/feel bloated, it still feels "thick". When i've lost weight before, and gotten to my current weight, my stomach felt flat and sleek, does that make sense? Could it be that I'm eating mostly meat and cheese? I was a vegetarian for 3 years and just started eating meat again. My scale may say that I'm 10 lbs lighter, but I really dont feel like it. I do pilates and I run/workout...whats going on? I'm confused and discouraged.

Candygal,

What phase are you currently on?

How long have you been on South Beach?

When you say "I'm eating mostly meat and cheese"...are you also eating veggies with each meal?

I eat lots of veggies - I love them. I have been eating quite a bit of cheese...and my regularity has def. been interupted. I am on P1 (going to P2 on Monday), and I can tell in my arms and back that I've lost weight, but I just feel like my belly isn't going anywhere. It's getting smaller, but still feels "thick", ya know? It's weird. Maybe I should lay off the cheese and up my veggie intake. I dont know, I'm just frustrated and don't understand whats going on.

candygal, I just came across this (from chat transcript, info from official South Beach nutritionist) about the Metamucil 3x per day, and why.
