Feeling sick

I'm on Day 5 and have followed P1 to the letter. I'm dealing with constiptation and general ickiness. The book said the first few days would be like this, but the food-revulsion started yesterday, day 4. I just cannot eat. I underate terribly yesterday (no breakfast, few bites of lunch, no snacks, okay dinner) and today I couldn't face eating at all. I feel HUGELY fat and have no idea why (maybe all those fiber pills) but I've been drinking my usual TONS of water, well over any guidelines. I think I may visit Miss Correctol over the weekend, but I want to know if anyone else has dealt/is dealing with this.

My pilates trainer said this was a wonderful plan so I tried it, but I feel like I can't stay feeling like this much longer.

Thanks for any advice.

I've been able to marginally "function" (wink wink) as far as the constipation goes. As for the water, I've always been a huge drinker so I'm not intentionally drowning myself or anything. I'm trying to get in the veggies, but due to the fact that I am a very picky eater, it's been almost exclusively salad greens. I had one sugarfree hard candy yesterday, but that's it. I'm not a big sweet-eater. Yesterday's menu was:

No breakfast

No snack

Lunch: About 10 bites of a huge salad with tuna and bean sprouts and romaine

Snack: A small baggie of pistachios, 25-30

Dinner: A couple of eggs cooked in Smart Balance, with a little cheese and Canadian Bacon, and a bit of cottage cheese

Snack: Ricotta Creme

Today I've not had breakfast or snack. I brought some turkey chili to the office for lunch, and I will make myself eat it whether or not I want it.

Thanks for your help.

I just wanted to let you know that I am having the EXACT same experience as you. Today is day 5 and I feel awful. On top of that, my husband has already lost 8 pounds and I've only lost 1.5. I am committed to stick with it (for at least two weeks). I just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone and I totally sympathize!

Hang in there!

Thanks for helping me feel less alone!

I'm actually feeling a little bit better this afternoon. I had a cup of turkey chili and it seems to be sitting okay. I may just have a little egg and salad burnout. I need to try new things this weekend, I think.

Let me know how you're doing!

I can't tell from your menu (since it's your recent reduced eating menu) what might be causing your bloating/discomfort.

I could be wrong, but you don't seem to be eating very much at all. Perhaps that is part of the problem. If you are not taking in as much food, there won't be as much exiting. Maybe you aren't feeling well because you aren't getting enough calories to sustain you.

I know you've heard it before but skipping breakfast could be a big problem, especially if you are working out. Before considering giving up totally, try having an apple for breakfast with a tbsp. of peanut butter. The apple will give you the much needed fibre and the peanut butter will give you a bit of protein. I liken it to the guy who wouldn't give up his bowl of ice cream, but stuck faithfully to the rest of the program and lost weight!

Just a thought.

Good luck.
