I have been thinking of trying this diet for awhile now, but was intimidated because I tried Atkins about 4 years ago and found it so hard to do.
My MIL and FIL started the diet about 5 weeks ago and they love it and highly recommended it (they even bought the book for DH and I!) After reading the book, I can see how different it is from Atkins, so I'm taking the plunge. I am currently 241 lbs and need to be under 150 for my height. I'm aiming for a long term goal of 135 (my weight in high school and college) since it was my healthiest looking/feeling in the past. My short term goal is to get at least 25 lbs off, maybe even just break that 200 mark. :o) Baby steps...
Wish me luck. I'm a little nervous. I remember when I tried atkins I went through a horrible withdrawal type period for 3-4 days, so I'm praying that SBD will be a little gentler on me? Any experiences?
I'm looking forward to reading the posts here and updating on my own journey. Any advice?
