Starting Over...
| Mon, 04-26-2004 - 1:44pm |
After losing about 11 lbs with SBD, I gained it back over the holidays and following months. I am very frustrated with myself, but I have to say gaining it back was VERY easy. Going from low carb to carb-rich really added up the lbs. quickly.
I'm starting over today. I've had lean turkey bacon for breakfast, and a salad with chicken on top for lunch. For a snack, I've had a few sugar-free gummy bears. I'm really hoping that I can actually succeed at losing some weight...and keep it off this time.
Feeling a little down on myself, but hoping that I can succeed again.
142/131/143/139...with the eventual goal of ending at 125.
Sigh.

Welcome back sweetpea!

Your story sounds almost identical to mine. I did SBD last April and lost 11 lbs. I too gained it back over the holidays and little bit extra. I attempted Phase 1 in January or Feb, then switched to Phase II after a week. It didn't work for me. So this time I stuck it out for two weeks and I'm going to be very, very careful about adding in carbs this time.
I must say that I found it much easier going the second and third time around. I knew what I could and couldn't have and wasn't constantly having to check it out.
Good luck! I hope you see the same results as the first time. (I lost 10 with a few cheats and I'm determined to keep it off this time!)

I changed to a smiley face as you suggested. :)
Thank you for sharing your story. That makes me feel a lot better that I am not the only one who has had trouble with the maintenance part. I'm just going to let go of my previous numbers and work with what I have now: 143/138/?/125. I haven't seen 125 in at least 10 years so I am interested to see if I can actually get there.
You are right, that makes a lot of sense - being able to go through the day without having to stop and think "is this allowed??" is a nice thing. I am looking forward to that. That was one of the harder things the last go round. Also, the last time seemed to break my sugar addiction, so the withdrawal has not been as severe this time (I had some major headaches and such when I did this before).
