3wks in Ph.1 ... do I really have to go?

I don't want to leave phase 1!!! I know so many go thru this, but I'm so comfortable in phase 1 and I'm losing weight at a good pace, I don't want it to slow down in phase 2. Why is it that you aren't supposed to stay on phase 1 too long??? I feel like I'm eating healthier than I ever did before.
And, I know this has been talked about before, but what is the best (read: least damaging) food to add first when entering phase 2???? I know to only add one at a time, I was never much of a bread eater to begin with so I don't even have the desire to add that back in. I do miss my cereal, but I was a Special K w/banana girl and I can't have that even in phase 2. :(
I think I just might stay here for one more week, but I know its probably time to move on.

Hi Sue,
It sounds like it's time to move to phase 2.
I think I'm going to stick out phase 1 for the rest of this week and move on to phase 2 on Monday. I need to grocery shop for the good carbs anyway before I start.
Its just scary leaving the comfort zone of something that is working. I can do this, I can do this.

You can certaily do this!
As for oatmeal, make sure you get the steel-cut or old-fashioned kind, no matter which brand you choose.
Hope this helps!

Our stats are very similar (For SBD I'm 122.5/117.5/115) and I felt the same way you did about moving onto Phase 2. I was worried I'd be one of those people who starts to gain weight right away when they start eating lots of carbs - lol. Actually, that thought also scared me into adding them back because I knew I'd have to do it sooner or later. This way, I could control them. Don't worry - you will continue to succeed.
I have to admit I haven't added back alot of Phase 2 foods yet. So far it's been about one fruit a day (usually either cantaloupe, pear or strawberries) and I'm just now going to work at one grain a day (so far it's been about 2 to 3 grains a week.) I have to agree that oatmeal is a great choice. In fact, I had some this morning for breakfast and I didn't even want lunch. I've also done one slice of whole grain bread at a time or half of a whole grain bagel or I'd add some approved cereal to my yogurt.
Good luck! Now go and expand your menu and enjoy it!
Susan.
