Wendy's chili, ok for phase one?

I was wondering if the chili at wendy's is ok for phase one? I'm praying that it is because today was another one of those hairy days, and I'm running all over the city. I had an omelet for breakfast, and after my workout around 2oz of chicken and flew out the door. i plan on getting in all of my veggies tonight with a huge salad.

Well, here it is 2:00 and I'm just plain hungry and I have nothing around in the car, don't want a salad, and wendy's is across the way, so I thought chili...hmm that should be alright. I ordered the small and only ate a quarter of it because I wasn't sure if it is ok to eat in this phase. i hope on my lucky stars it is because I would be bummed out if I blew it by eating this. I'm feeling a little more satisfied but still hungry, so I've gotta go find something else to eat. I did an intense hour of aerobics this morning and I think it's got to be why i'm so hungry today. Anyhow, if you know the answer to my question please post. If it was wrong for me to eat that quarter of the small chili, please tell me how i should rectify my mistake. thanks so much Suznane

Whew!!!! Big relief!! I'm so glad that chili didn't ruin this whole detox phase. It was good too, I put the remainder in the fridge. Perhaps I'll have some again later. Thanks so much for that great list. Is there somewhere where i can find out more similar information on other fast food places. Although I don't eat at them often, when I'm in a pinch for time it sure is helpful to know what I should and shouldn't eat. Suzanne

Hi suzanne!

I did chili every Tuesday before my Law & Banking class (UGH!). Very filling and YUMMY! I'm glad it's "approved", AND it's only .99! :)

LAW & BANKING?!? I feel for you... We had our last day of classes yesterday, and I have my first exam on Tuesday. I have Contracts, Torts, CivPro, Property, and CrimLaw. Yech. At least I'm almost done with my first year, though. Luckily the girls and I are hitting P.F. Chang's tonight for a study break.

But thanks for bringing up Wendy's chili, ladies. I was wondering about that since I love chili and am too lazy to make it (though I should and then freeze it). Chili and a small salad would be a great meal for me, and it would only be $2! YAY! I live on a tight budget, so that's great.

Thanks for asking about it!!!

Congrats Becca on your last day of classes! :) Not much longer and another year will be behind you!

I work at a bank here in Maine and they encourage further education(pay 100% for class and text). Each class = 3 college credits. I've just been taking one class at a time. Last semester was Principles of Banking, just as boring! Working full time, wife full time and mother full time doesn't leave time for much else!

Good luck Becca and I'll be thinking of you on my next trip to Wendy's :)

I might be weird so if you don't like this idea, just skip it.

I just love to buy a package of cole slaw mix (cabbage, carrots, etc, no dressing) and put about half of it in a bowl and then top with Wendy's Chili. I have to eat a big lunch and this is BIG. Then I top with my homemade salsa and non-fat yogurt combo for more flavor. I think it is to die for. With enough salad mix, I find that it is not too wet. The chili is very runny. At least it is much more runny than I make at home. But I find it a good lunch meal. (I keep the cole slaw mix and salsa mix in the refrigerator at work or in my Arctic Zone carry bag.)

Yes, I do carry big bowls in my car. But a paperplate worked when I forgot to bring one. I could only get half the cole slaw and half the chili on at one time.

Irene, this receipe sounds sooo good..I'll have to give it a try. You know what else I like is something they sell here called brocoslaw(it's brocolli shredded up like cabbage) and it tastes so good. I just pop the whole bag into the microwave for a minute or so and it's done, nice and soft. Top with seasonings and maybe some butter spray..yum. I like the idea of the chili on top, I think that would work well with my product too. Great Idea! Thanks Suzanne
