Day 4 for me too!!!

Today is Day 4 for me, and I'm finding this a lot easier than I thought. My body is reacting much better to it than it did to Atkins! My husband has been doing Atkins for about a year now, but not sticking too it very well. I've yet to convince him to join me on this adventure.

We have two little boys, 5 and 3. I've always watched what they eat, since I don't want them to have the same problems my husband and I do with weight. They like most everything, even most veggies. So if we can just get healthy too, then I think they'll be fine and have better role models as well.

I started a new med in the fall and since then I've gained about 30 lbs. I was overweight to start with... so it's been a frustrating time for me. I'm at my heaviest ever when not pregnant. It's down right depressing. I'm so glad I found this board to help me stay focused and supported.

I'm nervous about this weekend. I always do worse at home where food is so readily available. And tomorrow a friend and I are having a Girl's day out shopping and such... I know I can stick to the food part, I'll get a salad with some sort of grilled meat on it, but I'd really like a glass of wine. I have to keep telling myself that this is more important and having the day out is special enough. I'd probably just get a headache having alcohol in the middle of the day!

Well, I haven't weighed myself yet, waiting for a week to pass. So here are my start and goal weights. My goal is higher than the charts suggest, but it's a place I've reached before and felt good about at the time.

SW: 231

GW: 165

It sounds like you are doing well, keep up the great work. I am on day five today so i know how you are feeling. I have a dinner banquet tonight and it's pasta and chicken. It's going to be kinda hard since they serve great buns, drinks etc.. I'm going to stick to the chicken and maybe salad depending on how it's made. I'm sure those buns will be calling out my name. I'm finding my energy level just zapped today...how is yours? I don't know what it is..I workout daily, and today I did my regular workout and I could barely make it through it. My muscles felt like bricks, and I had to really push through it to get my full workout in. Just curious if you were experiencing any of this muscle weakness/fatigue.

Well, we can think of each other when those 'not permitted' phase one foods are staring us in the eyes..keep strong and have a good night out with your friends. Hang in there.;0) Suzanne
