The brownie just called to me!

I just couldn't help myself. My girlfriend and I had our day out, though I wasn't sure we would after a horrific night last night. The cold water hose to our washer busted and at about 7 pm my husband went downstairs to do laundry and found about 2 inches of water in the "work side" of the basement! EEEK! We were up until midnight vaccuming up the water. Thankfully we didn't lose a lot of stuff, mostly stuff I should have thrown away a long time ago anyway... The carpeted side of the basement didn't get too wet, but we had to lift the carpet and rip out the soaked padding. What a fiasco!

So anyway, we went to Lahaska to shop today. Anyone in Eastern Pa knows what a great place this is to shop and I think most of them were there today! It turned out to be their Strawberry Festival. We ate at a nice restaurant (Jenny's) and I was good and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad (even left the croutons on the side!). But then the waiter brought around the dessert tray... I am such a sucker for chocolate. The brownie was covered w/ caramel and marshmellows! Then they nuked it and added ice cream, fudge sauce and whip cream... And unlike Mandy and her birthday cake, I think I could have licked the bowl if I was home!!! I was punished though, it did make me sick! (I had my gallbladder remove last year and have had problems ever since, and now know the culprit, cause I've been fine for 4 days. I have to remember what the rich carbs do to my body and make myself stay away) So tomorrow it's back to the program!

Sorry to babble! Probably more info than anyone wanted to hear! :-) Thanks for listening!

Hi Lee Anne,

You learned a lesson the hard way.

Just reading about the brownie calling, made me remember how I felt all the time when I would eat really fat-loaded and carb-loaded food...I hope I can recall that feeling when I'm tempted!

I travel quite a lot in my job and will leave Monday for a week long business trip......

Well...since I didn't want to wreck what good I've done this week (it's really just been 6 days) I went to the grocery to get a few things I could take with me! I got some nuts that I pre-packaged in little ziplocks. I stocked up on string cheese and I got some sugar-free peanut butter....but I'm not sure exactly what I will eat that with...

The good news is that I stay in the same hotel almost everytime I'm on a business trip and they have a full kitchen. Plus they provide breakfast in the morning, which includes old fashion oatmeal... I can't have that this coming week but in Phase II I can.

My problem is that lunch is "provided" each day and it's not the best choices. On Friday, they always serve pizza...just pizza...so maybe I'll get a Chicken Salad the night before, and take it to the office with me for Friday's lunch....? I'll let everyone know how this works out...

Good luck next week. Being out in public is just so hard isn't it! I'm safest at work, where I'm not near anything... the vending machines are 3 floors down and the cafeteria is like a mile away! I realized when reading your post, that prior to starting SBD, I was doing good restricting processed carbs at lunch and dinner, but it was the breakfast (muffin, scone, etc.) and snacks that were doing me in.

Thank God for the Riccotta Creme! The chocolate one just is the best for me and my chocolate obsession! LOL!

I think having a plan to face that pizza is a great idea. I walked in to Jenny's with a plan to order a salad. And that's what I did... too bad I didn't plan on the temptations at dessert! Oh Well, I can't obsess over it. It's done, move on.
