Hi Amanda,

It seems like people have a thousand questions about Crystal Lite, and I always respond with, "Crystal Lite is good, but if you want a real treat..."

So here is my usual response :D I looooooooove Kool-Aid Mix, which you can buy unsweetened, and then you make it with Splenda (buy Splenda for baking). It is SO awesome. I always tell people Splenda is God's gift, as I detect no aftertaste and think it tastes JUST like sugar.

My supermarket sells generic Kool-Aid Mix, too, at 10 packets for a dollar. Each packet makes two quarts, so I usually take two one-quart containers and split the mix. The stuff is so good that I usually end up drinking a whole quart in a sitting! Thus I get my sweet/fake fruit-flavored fix and get some water in there, too.

Have fun!

Just thought this might be interesting since we're talking about what we can drink.

At 5 calories per 8 oz...that's *15* glasses. I think we'll all be ok, LOL....I hope!! Between that and my 10 calorie jello...I think I might make it after all!

Becca - Thanks for the Kool-Aid suggestion...you know, I've never had *real* Kool-Aid, so I wouldn't know it if I was missing something anyway. Going to have to try that!!

Teehee!

Hugs,
Amanda

Well, I looked at my generic Kool-Aid mix, and before you add sugar, it is 0 calories, 0 anything, except it provides 10% of the daily recommended value of Vitamin C per serving. Since Splenda has no calories, ta da! A calorie-free drink. Sure, water is still the best (and I definitely drink more water than Kool-Aid), but it never hurts to find something that's too good to be true :)

I hadn't had Kool-Aid since I was a kid, and we had a pitcher that looked like the Kool-Aid Man from the commercials (OH YEAH!). But oh, man, is it good! It reminds me of going to the Shore with my mom and brothers and sister until they outlawed coolers on the beach... I think they still don't allow coolers on most beaches in NJ. Too many drinkers, I guess.
