I was thinking of trying this diet to lose my last 10 pounds. I had heard that if you don't have a lot of weight to lose, you don't need to do phase one. Is that true? Has anyone tried to start with phase 2? It seems like phase 1 is an important part to get your body conditioned.

Maggie gave you the logistics, but I'd like to share my personal experience. I didn't/don't have alot to lose either, but still started with phase 1. Personally, I don't think I would have been able to control some of the starch/carb cravings without doing phase 1 AND the great results I saw in phase 1 motivated me to keep going. I lost 6 lbs in the first 2 weeks. Since I started phase 2 I still stick with most of the basics from phase 1 and I don't think I would if I didn't start there.

I didn't mind phase 1 much at all and fully expected to. ;)

Good luck,
