Phase I Thursday Check In

How is everyone doing so far today? It's day 4 for me. I got a late start this morning so I had no time for eggs. I had a couple slices of lite turkey deli meat and 2% cheese slices, 6 oz V-8 & coffee with fat free creamer at 7:30am. I just had my mozz stick at 10:15. I brought a Boca (veggie) burger & green beans for lunch. I have my pistachios for the afternoon snack. I haven't decided on dinner yet. This morning I am down to 140. Just 5 lb to go. My fear is gaining back the minute I switch to P2 or P3. I will deal with that then. I have the pre-TOM water weight to deal with now.

It's rainy here today...how is it where you are?

Wow Suzy - you are only 5 pounds away from goal? That's awesome!!!! I'm confused though - you are on Day 4 - are you repeating Phase I again? When did you start SB? You must be soo excited -- what an accomplishment!!

I am on Day 11 - first time around on Phase I. I lost 5 pounds my first week but am in a stall! I had a rushed morning today as well, so I had just a few slices of deli turkey with fat-free cheese, ran out the door with my V-8, which I drank on the train. For a snack, I had some slices of chicken and a mozz stick. For lunch, it will probably be a salad with tuna on it. Dinner, I'll decide on when I get home, but a sugar free fugicle is definitely on the agenda!!

I am STILL amazed that I have not had a piece of bread in almost two weeks. Never in my life have I gone this long without some kind of bread, cracker, cookie. I can say the gnawing cravings are gone -- though seeing a cookie still makes me want it. But I can more easily walk away now.

It's sunny and breezy here in Boston! Tomorrow is supposed to be a scorcher.

Hi there!

Boston is great. I was impressed at how good the restaurant service was when I was last there a couple years ago. A great city to walk around. :-)

This is not my first time on P1. I tried it initially last fall when I had stalled for awhile on Weight Watchers (WW is how I lost most of my weight...but I cannot seem to handle maintenance on it. I dislike counting points and measuring everything). My first time doing SB I lost weight, but then I didn't transition onto P2 or P3 and I ended up gaining most of it back right away. I decided to give it another try. I also crave cookies, chocolate, etc and was hoping this would help curb my cravings. I think it is. I like that I can eat when I'm hungry, and that it allows lots of healthy foods. I am looking forward to trying P3 for maintenance and I hope I can finally stabilize my weight. I've been doing a yo-yo up and down 10 lb ever since December when I earned my "lifetime" at WW.

Hang in there. 5 lb is still very good. (I only lost 1 or 2 lb a week over the months that I lost most of my weight, so 5 lb in 11 days is very good indeed) :-) I am sure you'll lose a bit more before the 14 days are over. Everyone loses at different rates. I bet I'm gonna stall a bit since my TOM is anytime now. The last 5-10 lb is definitely the hardest to lose.

Have a great day!

Good afternoon!

This morning was an egg beater omelet with mush, onion, broccoli. Morn snack consisted of a handful of green pepper strips. Lunch was a leftover ground turkey patty, small side salad with cukes and 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese and don't forget the s/f jello for dessert. afternoon snack will be some tuna and maybe a mozz stick. dinner is taco meatballs with broccoli and for dessert I am thinking FF plain yogurt flavored with vanilla, splenda and unsweetened cocoa.

Have a great day everyone.

Congrats Suzy on the weight loss and almost making your goal. I weighed in this morning and it looked like MAYBE 1-2 lbs. I am going to try and not weigh myself til the 1 week mark, Monday.

Yeah Cathy! Every pound (or inch) lost is worth celebrating! I admire you for waiting until Monday to weigh next. That's much better than obsessively weighing every day and getting discouraged. The taco meatballs sound interesting. :-) I just finished my veggie burger & beans.

Have a great afternoon!

The taco meatballs are actually pretty good. I made them last night for my husband and kids and tonight I will eat the leftovers. I found the recipe here.

Here is the recipe if your interested

1 1/2 lbs of lean beef

1 scallion

2 eggs

1 garlic clove minced

1 packet of taco seasoning

1 block of reduced fat sharp cheddar cut in cubes.

You beat the eggs and then combine with the rest of the ingredients and then place heaping tablespoons of the mixture around the cheese cubes.

You place on a sprayed cookie sheet with Pam and then bake on 425 for 10, I prefer 15 minutes.

It made 16 meatballs for us.

Cathy, another cool and cloudy day. I love it.

Raining here, too - I still did my usual brisk outside walk, but shortened a little so I wouldn't get drenched. For breakfast I had one egg, 2 slices of turkey bacon, coffee w/FF milk & some sugar free almond flavoring, and 6 oz V8. Out running errands, so snack was a late 2 ham/cheese rollups w/ cilatro mayo & some crystal light. No idea what lunch is or my later snack, but dinner will be chicken breast with feta and a salad. Mmmm.

Day 11, P1...I'm nervous about P2, but I'll just take it slow...

I am on day 9 and have lost about 6 pounds! I can't believe how just a change in your diet can make so much difference. I have about 14 pounds to go. I am a bit skittish about Phase 2 also, but with everyone's success, it makes it easier. I had 3 slices of bacon with scrambled egg this morning. I forgot my V-8!. Just ate a mozz stick and am having salad for lunch. I forgot to take out something for dinner, but those taco meatballs sure sound good! 77 degrees and sunny here in San Diego!!

Thank you so much for the recipe! I will give it a go myself. :-)

Enjoy the weather....it's supposed to warm up a bit on the weekend. (Hopefully not too hot).

Mmmm...chicken with feta sounds awesome! Glad you at least got some exercise. I'm nervous about P2 also...but I think it'll be worth it. Are you the fur-mom to those cute dogs & kitties? I am fur-mom to 3 kitties and 3 chinchillas. :-)
