Anyone else having a hard time...

sticking to phase 1. I have been off and on again since January. Everytime I think I am doing well, I ALWAYS end up cheating and messing everything up. I really have to put my mind to this and keep with it. Anyone else have this problem?

Christina,

I think maybe you need to change the way you think about this to help you out.

Hi Christina!

I know I have had this problem since December as I've been trying to maintain my weight, but keep gaining & losing the same 10 lb. My experience from last year when I lost 60 lb was that keeping a journal helps greatly since you write down EVERYTHING...you're less inclined to cheat. "If you bite it, write it" as well as "Nothing tastes as good as slim feels" got me through the tough times. When you have a craving, think about what's going on. Are you really hungry or just bored? If you're hungry, try drinking some water or eating an "approved" snack. If you're not really hungry, try doing something else for 5-10 minutes and you'll be surprised how the craving will pass. Tell yourself you CAN do this and you are worth it! Think how great you will feel achieving this goal...just 14 days. It's not very long and the food you are craving will still be there as a reward when you reach your goal. :-)

You WILL do it!! Hang in there.

Thank you for your advice. I find that I am not motivated to cook when I get in from work and my BF either. We end up ordering out or making something fast, and instead of eating something healthier, I end up eating a burger and salad, chinese. But when I am hungry and go for a snack, I end up eating bread or cereal. I go about 5 days being really good, then the weekend comes along and I slip up. I try to get back on track but then I just get depressed and even though I try not to say to myself "forget it" and try to think positive, negativity seems to creep up. I get motivated again and then, down it goes. Like a roller-coaster. I loose 2 pounds, then gain 3 back. Its getting annoying.

Do you have a crockpot?

Hi,

I'm not a cook either. Do you have a toaster oven? Buy one. Stock up on veggie burgers (I like morningstar) and throw them in the toaster oven when you're boyfriend is eating take-out. Put some low fat cheese on it. I promise, it's not really cooking. You might want to ask him if he can eat in more too. I know it would be alot harder to stick to this if I was around someone eating take-out all the time. I also have a small spoon of peanut butter after every meal. Helps for some reason.

Have a good day!

Christina, cheating once in a while is not going to mess everything up.

Susan,

I will try to do Phase 1 again and if I can't hack it, I'll move to Phase 2. Thank you for your support.
