Anyway, she said she's had so many clients tell her of their success on this diet that she finally tried it and recommended I give it a shot.
Well, after some pretty severe skepticism on my part due to my misgivings about the whole "low carb" fad, I decided to buy the SBD book and just see what it had to say. And much to my surprise, I was very impressed with it. It makes a lot of sense, and also follows the same lines of thinking that bodybuilding science advocates - that being healthy proteins, fats, and carbs are important and necessary.
So after a week I am down 3 pounds which I lost in the first 3 days. I'm thinking that was mostly water loss. I never thought I'd be able to go without my favorite carbs, but somehow I've done it so far. (I mean we're literally talking about just lock me in a cave for a month with a freezer of that lowfat (but HIGHLY sugary) dryers mint chip ice cream and a case of Cheerios and I'd be perfectly happy!) I never thought I'd be able to give them up for a day, much less longer. But amazingly, just as everyone has confirmed, I don't miss them now like I thought I would! (But put them in front of me and I'd still be hard pressed not to lose willpower very quickly!)
Anyway I'm hoping cutting out all the high GI, highly processed carbs will be the kick my body needs to shed this last bit of annoying fat hanging around my lower half ;)
Well, I just wanted to say hi :)
