Day 6

Hi All!

I am happy to report that as of Day 6 I am feeling great and have lost a total of 4 lbs.!!!!! I've done so much food preparation and have made so many great meals that I haven't missed the "bad" carbs that I used to enjoy so much (like that mid-afternoon frappucino).  My cravings have really dimished - it's amazing how that happens!  SB has been really terrific!  Tomorrow is my birthday (ok...stopped counting after 30 but will be 33:)).  We live in Chicago and with all of the fun things going on in the city (if anyone has ever been here in the summer - we have something called the "Taste" of Chicago which is an amazing food festival in the downtown area) - this weekend will be an interesting test for me.  I know I am on a roll and because I am feeling better and see the scale going down - I am not interested in cheating (at least at this moment!).  I do think it's important to go into situations like family parties, festivals, bbq's and etc.. mentally prepared as well as maybe filling your tummy with good things before you arrive.

How do you prepare for these types of situations?

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe 4th of July!

Hi Becky! That's great success so far! For me, feeling good and in control is motivating. You are on the right track by filling up on SBD-friendly foods before you go to an event that may present challenges. When you're hungry, it's easy to make bad choices.

Keep us posted on your progress!
