1st Day down, 13 more to go...

DH and I made it through our first day back on the Beach. It was harder for me (emotionally) than I expected; I had to actually work at not eating the wrong things this time, unlike last summer where I had a miraculously easy Phase I. My guess is that this is because we've been eating SO much sugar and flour etc. recently that I'm actually going through withdrawal. I didn't used to like sugar very much, so I didn't do this the first time... Ah, well.
Day one is over with. Hooray! As I recall from last year, it gets a little less strange every day. :)
I did start a journal/log thing, but I don't promise to update it every day -- it depends on whether or not I have the free time to do so. ;)
Angelle

Hi Angelle,
Congrats on getting thru day one! Yes, you're right! The first few days may be a bit difficult, but stick with us and we'll help you thru.
Remember to eat often and drink plenty of water.
Hugs,
Hi again. Today was Day 3 for us, and except for the mishap with the ham, we're doing great. (And, as noted in my journal down there someplace, we're mitigating the harm of the ham, because we can't afford to toss it out, LOL. It's all give-and-take, in the end.) :)
I'm noticing that I wake up in the night a little more often to peepee than I normally do -- I'm clearly shedding water, which is needed and good. But I'm also finding I need less sleep at night -- I'm naturally waking up earlier in the morning. I think geting the sugar and other toxins out of my system is helping me have steadier blood sugar, instead of highs and crashes.
So far, so good. :)
