I am planning on starting the SBD on Sunday. The reason I am not starting right away is because I have been doing the Jenny Craig Diet for 2 months an I hate it. I need to finish my food before I start SBD. I have been reading up on it and had smoe questions. Can I have peabut butter in phase one, if so is there a limit? What about olives? limit? Is there a limit on cheese? Can I have buffalo wings? how about boneless skinless thighs? Thanks for your help?

Hi,

Welcome to the South Beach board!

Have you found our "Getting Started' thread yet?

Thanks for the info! I am enthusiastic about getting started. I lost about 95 pounds on weight watchers over the about three years and recently in the past year I have put on about fifteen pounds. I weigh about 170 and would like to et down to 145 (the lowest I have been is 155 and was stuck there for months). How long do you think it will take if I do SBD (way of life)? I know that it's got to be a life change, that's how I lost the other weight. I just need a change from WW. I am hoping this board will help me along the way. Thanks again.

Thanks a lot! Two more days and I will be starting. I am excited to go food shopping I have been feeling so deprived recently and it just makes me want to cheat. I will keep you updated on my journey!

Thanks a lot Maggie! I actually got the book from the library. Do you think I should just buy the book? I figured I could get the basics from the book while I have it and then keep up with the updates on this board. Do you think it's worth it to join the SBD website? Any suggestions for workouts? I belong to a gym and am willing to commit to at least four days a week may be five. How much weight training should I do and how much cardio? There are so many different things people say about how you should do more weight training because it makes you burn for longer. I am so confused but I am ready to commit and get this weight off.
Thanks again!
Cristina

PS I saw your pictures, and you are my inspiration!!

I'm sure that will be fine! It's nice to have the most recent edition of the paperback to refer

Thank you so much for your help! Tomorrow I am going to start! I have to eat th elast of my dreadful Jenny Craig food today! I can't wait to go food shopping and buy real food again! Thanks again for you help! Oh, I had a question about Japanese food. On SBD if I go to Japanese for sushi, if I get rolls with raw fish, avacado, and seaweed with no rice, that's okay right? What about miso soup? What about seaweed salad? I just thought of this because we love to eat suhi in the sunmertime. Thanks!
