that you are suppose to in a day? Like this morning, I missed breakfast and lunch. I had a busy day and had to go go go as soon as I woke up! I had no time. So in the morning, I had coffee in the van and when I got home I had some yogurt, then made some Buffalo chicken and had a big salad with it included. So I guess I got some dairy in, some protein in and lots of veggies. What happens if you don't get so many servings of each group in a day?

Hi,

We need to eat at regular intervals to keep our blood sugar levels even.

I agree with everything Cathy said. Even though it can be time-consuming, I have to try to prepare things ahead of time that I can just grab and go if need be, otherwise I end up skipping meals also, which is bad news.

Cathy's ideas were great. Here are some other things that I make ahead of time for those times I just have to grab something and run:

Breakfast quiche (I make a pan and keep the bars in the fridge in baggies) -- just microwave 1.5 minutes and it's breakfast!

Chopped up fresh raw veggies. I keep a bowl in the fridge, as well as sandwich baggies of them ready to go. Our favorites: zucchini, rutabaga, radish, broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber.

Box of cherry tomatoes.

Spicy roasted chick peas (crunchy and GREAT for snacking!) - I make mine with cajun spices so they are a little exciting. Just throw them in a baggie and go.

Snack-size nonfat cottage cheese.

Celery stalks cut up and stuffed with just a little natural peanut butter or tuna salad.

I'm sure as you go along, you'll think of other things that you can keep on hand which are easy to make up and just grab. :) Those are just my personal favorites. :)

Good luck!
