Day 7 of Phase I

So far, so good. :) Brian and I are hanging in there. We had a bit of an inconvenience yesterday when the power went out for no known reason, and we couldn't go to our usual grocery store to get the things we needed for snacking -- that's how we ended up at a restaurant for dinner (see our journal below for details on that), but it all worked out just fine.

I came up with a new snack/dessert idea last night. It involves ricotta cheese, as so many things do. ;) I mixed half a cup of part-skim ricotta with a half-packet of Equal, slightly less than a teaspoon of natural chunky peanut butter, and a half-teaspoon of sugar-free hot cocoa powder. Delicious! Brian wanted more chocolate taste, but I thought it was just fine. :)

I seem to keep inventing foods. I guess that's a good thing, because I hate complicated recipes or things that take a lot of time to prepare. ::chuckle:: The chocolate-peanut butter ricotta was delicious, and between that and the mock rice pudding I invented the day before, I think I've got my sweet cravings completely licked. ::happy dancing:: Knock on wood.

We have today off. ::happy sigh:: It's nice to be busy, of course, but it will be really nice just this once to have a full day with no obligations other than the ones we set ourselves. :) I will have to do some prep of marketing stuff, so I can take 'goody bags' to the vets tomorrow and keep our faces out there in front of people, but that's hardly like 'work'. :)

Tomorrow will be the beginning of our final week on Phase I. :) I'm feeling pretty happy about it. We didn't weigh or measure or anything before we started, and I know Phase I isn't really a weight loss phase anyhow, unless you're retaining a lot of water, but I'm looking forward to getting closer to Phase II, and tomorrow morning we will be halfway there! :)

Hope everyone else is doing well. It's wonderful to share so much information on this board, CLs and 'regular' people alike. :)

Have a terrific day! :)

Thanks and congrats on week one, how much did you lose?

Hi! The journal is just a thread I started for me and Brian under the 'Journals' section of this board. I also have a livejournal, though, which is at livejournal.com.

Thanks for the congrats! I have no idea how much (if anything) we've lost -- we aren't weighing ourselves or anything. This is our second time around the SBD -- we did very well the first time, and also learned that for us Phase I is not a fat loss phase, merely water loss. In Phase II, we'll be more interested in if we're losing or not. Our cravings are definitely going away, though, which is the whole point of Phase I. :)

Cristina,

Feel free to post your journal in our "Journaling" folder down below. You can use it however you like. Some like to record everything they plan to eat - beforehand. Others like to record everything (sometimes confess) they have eaten. Others just use it as a place to reflect, vent, or cheer! Since others will see your journal, you may often receive comments. It can be very helpful.

Good luck!
