Not really losing yet ...

Maybe I'm snacking on too many almonds or something. I'm following the diet and being good but my weight seems to be hovering in the same vicinity.

I want to lose 30 pounds and can't seem to get out of the 150 range into the 140's.

I'm on the second week of Phase I. Should I go another week on Phase I and cut back on nuts and see if that helps?

No, I would not recommend that you continue phase 1 for another week.

And here is something to look at:

Wow, that's good to know. Thanks!

I did lose a few pounds at first but didn't get out of the 150 range; it keeps hovering around 150 or going up a pound or two.

And, I've been following the diet and exercising. (Though I haven't been exercising every day.)

My exercise consists of aerobics (trampoline) and some stretching and hand weights.

A typical day's menu includes lots of water; once a day with sugarless Metamucil for fiber.

When I don't have a lunch or dinner that includes good fat, I have a tablespoon of flax seed oil.

Breakfast (includes a chewable multivitamin with a bit of sugar and honey):

2 or 3 eggs scrambled mixed with lowfat soy milk, frozen peppers and onions and salt in a little Smart faux butter (whatever it's called).

Some days I add a few slices of lowfat turkey bacon.

V8 Juice

Lunch:

Grilled chicken strips sauteed in olive oil with some salted almonds on a bed of spinach. (No dressing.) - or canned tuna mixed with unsweetened relish (the first day I used sweetened relish) - or canned salmon mixed with lemon juice and onions

Cup of lowfat soy milk or tomato juice

Dinner:

Turkey burger with onion (a couple of times I used ketchup before I realized that was bad)
- or -
Ground turkey mixed with tomato sauce, onions and kidney beans

V8 or lowfat soy milk

Snacks:

Salted almonds, bits of feta cheese (not lowfat); lowfat, no-sugar-added Fudgesicles

Your menu seems light on the veggies.

For dinner, I usually have stringbeans. The first two nights I had peas and found out that was wrong.

I was never a big veggie person but hoped that the V8 would count.

Also, I'll have a tablespoon of flax seed oil to add good fat to lunch or dinner (that isn't using any fat otherwise).

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll try cutting back on the eggs, which I started doing already, from 3 to 2.

I'm definitely eating healthier overall and am more aware of labels and carbs, sugar levels and calories.

I just wanted to clarify that V8 IS allowed on SB and counts toward your veggie servings.

Great, thanks for clarifying that for me. It's a good thing that I like V8 juice.

I take a chewable vitamin with a bit of honey/sugar in it but figure that small dosage won't hurt.

(I don't like swallowing pills.)

"a couple of times I used ketchup before I realized that was bad"

Hi bluemoon,

You can have ketchup, just look for the ones that have 3g sugar or less per serving (no added sugar).
