I am going to my brother in laws house and he is making strip steak, is this frindly? Also, I am leaving for Greece in 8 days and I would like to stick to this WOE for ever so I don't want to use the fact that I am on vacation as an excuse not to eat right. Is gyro meat friendly? I have asked the people at my greek rest and they say is is made of ground lamb and lots of herbs and spices. Any other suggestions for eating in greece?

Strip steak isn't a good choice.

Thank you so much for the info on the steaks!
We are flying into Athens and will be doing a classical tour visiting athens, Delphi, Olympia and Kalambata, from there we are taking a ferry to Mykonos for three days then we get on a four day cruise to go island hopping. We will stop in Turkey, Patmos, Santorini, and Crete. I am so excited. I am looking forward to all of the delicious fresh foods. Hummus is a good choice too right? How about couscous? Tablouhi? You make gyros at home? How? Please send me the recipe!!

I would think gyros would be considered too fatty!

Who knew?!

Here's the "official" word on gyros.
