question about diet drinks

I'm getting started on SBD, and I had a question about diet drinks. Hanson's has diet decaf drinks that have no carbs, sugars, sodium, or caffeine - are these excluded? I don't understand why decaf diet drinks are on the No list, unless it's the sodium... Can someone explain please?

Any diet, decaffeinated, sugar-free sodas and drinks are allowed on all phases. You can also drink caffeinated coffee or diet sodas with caffeine added—just try to limit your intake to one to two servings per day. Caffeine stimulates the pancreas to produce insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar. When too much insulin is released at once, it can result in cravings. However, one or two cups of coffee or caffeinated soda a day won’t have all that great of an effect on insulin levels—so there's no need to completely deprive yourself!
I must have read something wrong, then. I thought one of the articles I read said that sodas of any kind - even sugar free and decaf - were off limits. I'm glad they aren't - these Diet Hansen's are wonderful! The ginger-ale and root beer especially, which are big no-nos on the diet (if I read that right =).
Thanks!
