I noticed that Gatorade, and I'm assuming Powerade and other drinks like that, aren't allowed.#1, Is this for the first two weeks only, or are they banned from the diet? And 2, does anyone have an alternative? I need something more than water when I'm working out, especially cardio. Would propel water be ok? What do you all drink? Thanks!!

Hi Jen
Sports drinks are not allowed on any phase due to added sugars. I prefer Crystal Light and homemade teas. Fruit 2o is a flavored water sweetened with Splenda and is allowed.
Here is our complete beverage guide for South Beach - What can I drink on South Beach?
Look for drinks low in sugar and carbs, basically, right?
You should look for drinks that are sugar free not just low in sugar.
"You should look for drinks that are sugar free not just low in sugar. There should be no sugar added and fruit juice isn't acceptable on any phase. Let us know if you need further clarification."
Nope, that cleared things up. The only fruit juice I ever drank was apple and that was rare. Juice always seemed to make me feel sluggish. So, I really don't think I'll miss it! Besides, the real thing is soooo much better. Thanks for being so helpful, and patient. I really appreciate it.
