I'm on day 10 of phase 1 and during the first 4 days I lost 6 pounds. Since then nothing else has come off and I'm stuck at this weight. Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I'm happy with the 6 pound loss but would like to lose a little more before starting phase 2. I just can't understand how I'll be able to lose the weight in phase 2 if I can't seem to lose a little more in phase 1.

Losing 6 pounds in 10 days is pretty good!! The popular ad for The South Beach Diet talks about losing 8-13 pounds in the first two weeks.

Christie - My roommate is having the same problem. After seeing my weight loss she decided to try SBD. (She's studying to be a nurse too, so she was doing her homework on how sound it is too.) Anyway, she lost 6 pounds right away and then she stalled. She eats rather healthy and does regular exercise but she's really using P1 to help with her sweet tooth.

Don't get discouraged. Plateaus just mean that your body is resetting its internal setpoints. It's a good sign!
