Another PB question

Hi there-

I am on day 3 of Phase one, and am loving this board! I have a question about Natural PB. I bought Skippy natural, and was surprised at how good it was. I am doing this without the book (I am waiting for it to ship), so I don't know if this is covered in it or not, but what is the difference between natural PB and regular? My Dh asked me, and I assumed it was because of sugar or trans fat, but the regular PB we have here has the same amount of sugar and no trans fat either. Just wondering!

Thanks so much!

Michelle

I think Skippy natural may have added sugar which is a no no - but I am not sure. Check the label. The only two ingredients should be peanuts and salt.

I noticed on line that it has 3.5 g saturated fat and I don't know if that is more or less than other brands. They may add something like palm oil which would increase the saturated fats.

Again, take a look at the label and let me know.

Lisa.

Did you look at the actual ingredients list on the "regular" PB?

Oh no! I thought it tasted too good! There is sugar added!!!! Guess I have another shopping trip in my near future. I thought it was odd that it had sugar listed in the ingredients. Thanks for the heads up. I have been trying so hard, i would hate to be busting the diet and not know it!

Hi Michelle,

Welcome!

I like Smucker's Natural Peanut Butter.

Just be sure that you don't pick up the unsalted variety.

Hi Michelle,

Just popping in to say welcome. Take a look at these links for the 'basics' until your book arrives.
